Get excited foodies! The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach has welcomed an enthusiastic and wildly experienced new Chef, Michael Harris. Michael is an impressive new addition to the restaurant, his career has spanned over many years and many countries and he is now ready for a new challenge at the Sebel’s signature restaurant, Margate Beach House.

From London to Aus

Beginning his career with an apprenticeship at the Dorchester Hotel in London, English Chef Michael Harris went on to train with Michelin starred chefs Andoni Luis Aduriz of Mugaritz and Philippe Legendre of La Cinq. As if that isn’t impressive enough, he has also worked with Jamie Oliver and Heston Blumenthal and has spent time working in highly esteemed kitchens across Europe and Asia. His career recently took him to Singapore and New Zealand, before he arrived in Australia several years ago.

Seaside Chef

Now in his new position at Margate Beach House, Chef Harris is passionate about featuring fresh, seasonal produce from local suppliers in the new menu. The Redcliffe Peninsula provides a new opportunity for Michael, who is passionate about creating a quintessentially Australian restaurant experience.

With his impressive past achievements and sensational new menu additions, Chef Harris will be bringing a new kind of taste experience to the restaurant. Speaking about his exciting new venture, Michael has said that, “We’re going to create a new category of dining at Margate Beach House, developing our new menu has given me the opportunity to really shine a light on this stunning location. Our new menu champions fresh, seasonal produce from local suppliers.”

About the menu, Michael states “I believe in letting the food speak for itself by enhancing the natural flavours.” This attitude is clearly reflected in his new dishes, that are sure to draw you in and keep you coming back for more.

The New Menu

The new menu items include Truffle & Wild Mushroom Arancini, Mussels & Fries, Smoked Seafood Pie, Wagyu Burger, and line-caught market fish of the day. All of this, and the rest of the menu looks, and tastes, incredible. There are also gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well as a children’s menu available, making this the perfect spot to take family and friends.

Margate Beach House is fast becoming a well-loved Redcliffe hotspot. Open daily, 6.30am to 9.00pm, the restaurant is perfect for a relaxed meal with stunning panoramic ocean views at any time of day.
