1. Animal Kingdom

Bring your little ones for a foray into the Animal Kingdom at White Ridge Farm, a Brisbane animal farm in Elimbah. Interact with friendly and sweet-natured animals such as goats, sheep, ducks, and chickens to alpacas, a camel and even miniature horses and pigs. All these animal farm residents happily roam free across 20 acres of lush green lawns and paddocks and the NEW putt-putt golf course!

2. Caboolture Historical Village

A history lesson for the whole family with interactive displays, the Caboolture Historical Village is a fun-filled day of fun and learning. Children can get up close with old water pumps, butter churns, typewriters and sawmill machinery, in a safe environment. They’ll love playing teacher in the one-room schoolhouse and riding the rails at the local train station. Why not test their strength, by attempting to lift a ball and chain at the prison? If that doesn’t grab their interest, a trip to the morgue and hospital might do the trick. Explaining dentistry devices and technics from sixty years ago, it’s sure to get them brushing their teeth without complaint.

3. Pick Your Own Strawberries

Does anything taste better than a warm and juicy strawberry freshly picked from the fields? Enjoy a day out in the spring sun with pick your own strawberries at Rolin Farms. Strawberry picking has long been a great activity for family bonding, where children can participate and parents can encourage healthy eating habits in a fun and exciting activity. Stop by the shop to pick up your wooden basket for picking before heading out to the fields either with children in tow or occupied in the playground.

4. Splash into Fun

Our local waterpark near Brisbane is re-opening just in time for school holidays! From Saturday 21st September, your little one’s can run, jump, bounce, slide and swing their energy into exhaustion at AquaSplash Redcliffe. The inflatable obstacle course in Brisbane north features slides, ladders, climbing domes, runways and more.

5. Butterfly House

Knowing that kids and adults alike are often enamoured by the colourful, winged beauties, the Bribie Island Butterfly House is open to visitors. With a guided tour of the facility by the volunteers, you can step into the butterfly haven and interact with them in their natural environment, even getting to see the breeding lab! If you’re lucky enough, a butterfly may even land on you to create that picture-perfect moment.

6. Marine Adventure

Enjoy some fun in the sun before the summer heat hits and explore our beautiful Moreton Bay Marine Park these school holidays with Dolphin Wild. Spend the day spotting dugongs, turtles and dolphins. If you book before October, you might even spot some passing humpback whales as they make the last leg of their migration back to southern waters. Want to take it one step further for a memorable experience? Cruise over to Moreton Island and book a snorkelling tour to swim with the fish among the Moreton Island wrecks.

7. Outdoor Skirmish

In the bayside or the hinterland of the Moreton Bay Region you can enjoy a game of skirmish near Brisbane. 8. Fun on the Lake

Playgrounds, picnics, swimming and kayaking – all can be done in one convenient location! Grab your swimmers, pack a lunch and don’t forget the paddlecraft for a day out on Lake Samsonvale. Open public access for paddle craft is available on Lake Samsonvale seven days a week in the designated zone (Zone 2). Paddle craft can only be launched from the launch point at Forgan Cove, off Forgan Road.

9. Jump, Flip, Soar

Get your little ninjas learning agility, coordination and balance, all while participating in a family fun school holiday activity near Brisbane at Flip Out Trampoline Park in Strathpine. Throw in some props like hula hoops, parachutes and balls to really test their skills and see what tricks they can learn.

15. Intrust Super Cup Grand Final

NRL footy fans in the house? Dolphin Stadium in Redcliffe will be packed to the rafters for the Intrust Super Cup Grand Finale. Watch the two best footy teams in Queensland battle for the bragging rights…and the trophy! The competition starts at 8:30 on 29 September for a full day of footy fun!

16. Archaeological Family Fun

Have you ever wondered what it would really be like to be an archaeologist or what they do? Craft activities with a focus on Mesopotamian and Mesoamerican cultures will also be available at this Kids Dig It! Archaeology Family Fun Week.

17. Kids Festival Fun Day

18. Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Grab your favourite teddy, pack a picnic blanket and head down to the North Lakes Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Kinsellas Sports Complex on Friday 27 September! There’s plenty of fun for children under five with stage shows, kid’s activities, an animal farm, and the always popular teddy bear parade. Plus, a very special visit from Big Ted! Sing and dance to stage shows, take part in workshops and activities, explore the animal farm or jump onboard the trackless train.

19. Harvest Moon Festival

Celebrating three fundamental concepts that are recognised in Southeast Asian countries such as China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan, the Harvest Moon Festival is a very important custom. The traditional performances, lantern contest and fashion show are all designed to bring together both Southeast Asian communities and wider communities with the opportunity for bonding, remembrance and celebrating. The festival will feature oriental food, stalls, music and more.

20. Bounce & Bites

Inflatable World is heading to Club Pine Rivers for an afternoon of bounce and bites. From 2:00 pm on Saturday 28 September, you can bounce around before grabbing a delicious treat or hearty meal from a range of food trucks that will be on-site to cater to your hungry tots and teens! Bring along your picnic rug and set up shop in front of the acoustic musicians while your little ones tire themselves out.
