Albany Creek Leisure Centre

Cnr Old Northern Rd and Explorer Drive, Albany Creek QLD 4035

There's nothing better than a swimming pool in the Queensland summer! Whether it’s to beat the heat, get some exercise or just have a bit of fun, swimming pools provide hours of entertainment for the whole family. Now imagine a pool with a water slide, wild rapids and bubbling water spouts. This isn’t a theme park on the Gold Coast. This is the Albany Creek Leisure Centre.

Located on the corner of Old Northern Road and Explorer Drive, about fifteen minutes from Brisbane, this council pool has something for everyone, from thrill seekers to athletes, all year round.

Learn, get fit or just have fun in an Albany Creek Swimming Pool

Albany Creek Leisure Centre has three pools to choose from:

Albany Creek Leisure Pool

Albany Creek Leisure Centre brings all the thrills of a theme park to the safe and convenient scale of a public pool. A spiralling water slide leads into a splash pool, while little ones can enjoy spurting waterfalls and a mini slide. The big drawcard here, though, is the unique Rapid River. Powered by jets of water, these rapids operate like a riptide, scooping kids along as they squeal with delight. Just try to swim against the tide!

If you’re wary about sending little ones into the water, there is also a sectioned off area beside the main leisure pool with smaller water spouts and easy access for toddlers. This pool is only open during the warmer months (from September – April) so consider visiting during the summer holidays.

Albany Creek Lap Pool

Looking for a pool to practise your strokes? The Albany Creek Leisure Centre features a 50m lap pool for fitness training. Lanes are allocated according to speed. Depending on the time of your visit, some lanes may be closed for lessons.

Little Swimmer's Warm Pool

To continue kids' swimming lessons or leisure swimming all year round, the Leisure Centre includes a warm programs pool. Ideal for kids or for anyone undergoing hydrotherapy, the warm programs pool is kept at a balmy 32 degrees. Be sure to check the pool’s availability before you go as it closes periodically for teaching or therapy.

Shop for swimming supplies

Need a new pair of goggles or floaties? These are all available at the convenient merchandise store at the Leisure Centre.

Get a bite to eat at the Terrace Cafe

When it comes time to have lunch, make sure you stop by at the Terrace Café. Located in the Leisure Centre, this café offers a range of menu items, including sandwiches, pies, wedges and hot drinks, to satisfy your stomach after a long swim. Turn your pool experience into a day trip by enjoying lunch at the Leisure Centre.

The Albany Creek Leisure Centre provides an excellent place to have a fun day in the water. So pack your togs, towel and sunscreen and come and visit on the weekend.
