Jumping Goats Bar
Jumping Goats Bar, 4/295 Oxley Ave, Margate QLD 4019
Bringing life and vibrancy back to the sleepy seaside village of Margate in the Moreton Bay Region, Jumping Goats Bar is a quaint and charming little bar serving up the best local beers, cocktails, wines, spirits and ciders.
Jumping Goats Bar is owned and run by father and daughter team Nigel Scanes and Peta Thames. Together, they have created a dog and family-friendly bar with live music pumping every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. They’ve also got board games and card games to keep the little ones (and sometimes the big ones) entertained.
While the bar is stocked with a wide range of snacks including locally made jerky and peanuts plus cheese and crackers, guests are welcome to bring their own food. Right next door is a delicious takeaway Thai shop, Kob’s Thai Kitchen, as well as Bella Sicilia Pizza and Pasta. There’s nothing better than some pizza or pasta to wash down a beer or two.
Keep an eye on their What's On page for any upcoming events they’re hosting or book your next shindig with up to 70 guests at the Jumping Goats Bar in Margate.
Sourcing from local microbreweries, Queensland boutique wineries and Australian spirits, Jumping Goats Bar has created a strong community atmosphere.
Their range of craft beers and primarily sourced from Brisbane and surrounds while much of the wine was created in the Granite Belt region of Queensland. Their selections of spirits, including gins, whiskies, rums and vodka are all Australian. They believe in sourcing locally as it minimises their carbon footprint while supporting their local economy (and it’s just better quality).
On tap at Jumping Goats Bar are a rotating selection of beers including White Brick (North Lakes), Brendale Brewing Co, Newstead Brewing Co, and All Inn (Banyo). Check their drinks list to see what’s on rotation.

After travelling the world and tasting premier wines from across the globe, Peta is happy to be home and promoting Queensland’s very own produce, believing it sits high in the list ‘best wines’. Peta also believes Queensland is now producing some of the best beer in the country and is excited to showcase these tastes in Margate.
