With a Halloween vibe like no other and a Harry Potter-esque feel about it, Bray Farm Park in Griffin provides an adventurous day of fun and exploring.
Following on from the Store of Requirement in Samford, the Brisbane Harry Potter Park, known as Bray Farm Park, is the second Harry Potter themed location in north Brisbane. With a unique take on the wizarding world, this new location in Griffin is sure to entertain your kids and challenge their physical (and magical) abilities.
Dubbed the ‘Harry Potter Park’ by locals for its bewitching structures, Bray Farm Park combines art, culture and nature to create a unique family fun park in north Brisbane. Tucked away in the quiet Riverbreeze Estate of Griffin, the Brisbane Harry Potter park features two main structures that have a bridge, climbing net, fireman’s pole, slide, turrets and windows.
Additionally, there is a larger climbing net separate from the structures that is considered to reflect Harry Potter character Hermione’s time turner.
Set against a backdrop of bushland (can anyone say Forbidden Forest?), Bray Farm Park reflects the natural aspects of the wizarding world as well as the plain-old muggle world. Surrounded by native trees, it’s likely you’ll hear the call of the local birdlife and maybe even spot a kangaroo or koala! Kids can also have a bit of fun hopping across the large pumpkin and tomato sculptures scattered throughout the park and ducking behind the bird and animal sculptures around the play equipment.
One of the most important factors in building a park is accessibility. Though the main playground is based in bark, Bray Farm Park provides a concrete pathway that weaves around the equipment to benches and picnic shelters. This feature makes the Harry Potter park in Griffin accessible to those in wheelchairs, parents with prams and kids bringing along their scooters or bikes. Other great features include:
Bray Farm Park does not have an amenities block or barbecue though may come later if requested by visitors. If you wish for these facilities to be installed, get in touch with your local councillor to request the additions. Please also note that the playground is not fenced and is located relatively close to the road so caution with children should be exercised.
