The RSL QLD Bribie Island Sub-Branch has big plans for Anzac Day.
Rouse the family early and head over before first light to stand at attention awaiting the bugle call at the Bribie Island RSL Sub-Branch’s Dawn Service. Participants and onlookers should flock to the Brennan Park, Bongaree for a 4:28am start on the day.
Due to large numbers expected, patrons are advised to arrive early to allow time for parking and walking to the service.
Once the Dawn Service finishes, all attendees will be invited to come along to the Bribie Island RSL for an early bird Gunfire Breakfast commencing immediately after the Dawn Service at about 5am - 7am.
The main event of the Bribie Island Anzac Day programme is set to kick-off after breakfast. Bring the family down to Apex Park on Toorbul St, next to the Bribie Island Seaside Museum to watch, or join-in the Anzac Parade. Marchers must be ready at 8:30am sharp. Participants will march along Toorbul Street to Korea Place within the Bribie Island RSL grounds.
March Assembly, Apex Park - 8:00am
March Commencement - 8:30am
The Service in Korea Place will commence after all marchers have arrived, at approximately 9am.
Everyone including school children, ex-service and service organisations and the general public are encouraged to participate in the Anzac Service by placing an Anzac wreath, or appropriate book on the memorial when the time comes.
Toorbul Street (between South Esplanade and Bribie Island RSL Club) will be closed between 7:30 am and 9:00 am on the day.
After the main Anzac Day Brisbane North events have concluded everyone in attendance (including the general public) will be welcome back to the RSL for drinks, fun social activities and entertainment. Games of ‘2 Up’ will commence from 11am.
