Caboolture Gem Fest

If you’re wondering what’s on in Caboolture this July, look no further than the huge Gem Festival Brisbane North at Caboolture Historical Village on Saturday, 1st July hosted by the Caboolture Gem Club.

Held yearly in July, this unique event takes over the grounds of the Historical Village bedazzling those curious for a close-up look at various precious minerals and bringing together lapidarians, rock hounds, gem collectors, and anyone keen to learn about gems, gem cutting, rocks, minerals and jewellery making.

This wide-ranging gem showcase will feature items and products from the gems & jewellery, minerals, metals and ores industries.

A Niche Festival Open to All

The 2017 Gem Fest holds many surprises for all ages so why not bring the family and make a day of it exploring all the Historical Village has to offer on this special day.

What to Expect at the Caboolture Gem Festival Brisbane North

You can browse through 2 halls full of jewellery traders who collectively supply every precious stone you can imagine including sapphires, rubies, opals, amethyst, and diamonds.

The featured traders and artisans stock incredible, original creations you won’t find anywhere else.

There’ll be plenty of mineral and fossil specimens for sale – from fossilized shark teeth to large slabs of fossils holding rare fish and plant specimens from eons ago, plus amber/insect curios and countless minerals in various shapes, colours and sizes.

Market Stalls Galore

Over 50 tailgaters (market style) stalls will be dotted across the Caboolture Historical Village’s grounds. The stallholders who will be featured are predominantly fossickers who’ve come to sell their finds and creations.

You can pick-up a truly original bargain, or buy quality rough material to craft into your own bejewelled creation.

Last year a besser-block sized boulder opal specimen was available at one of the Caboolture Gem Festival Brisbane North stalls so who knows what wonders you might find this year!

Worked up an Appetite?

You can refuel on the day by grabbing a snag in bread from the all-day BBQ, or taking a seat in the Hotel for a drink, barista-made coffee, or a sandwich, or cake.
