Exhibition opening: On the menu

Join us at the official opening of the exhibition and begin your exploration of Australian food culture at the beginning.

Taste native Australian food flavours as you see, touch and smell their ingredients. Do you know the taste and texture of a bunya nut? Have you seen the small caviar-like pearls of juice inside of a finger lime? Aunty Dale Chapman, chef at First Food Co, will guide your experience.

A Welcome to Country ceremony will be performed by Brent Miller, Kabi Kabi Traditional Custodian. Light refreshments will be provided by First Food Co.

Aunty Dale Chapman is a Kooma, Yuwaalaraay woman from central Queensland who has worked in the bush food industry for over 30 years. She is chef at First Food Co and author of cookbook Coo-ee Cuisine.

First Food Co is a specialist in bush food and leader in the bush food industry. Its food and products are made from wild harvested and ethically farmed ingredients that have nourished the First Australians for millennia.

Free. RSVP required. Light refreshments provided.
