The sequence of events for 2019’s Samford RSL Sub-Branch Anzac Day Service is largely the same as last year’s.
Dawn service will be held at the Samford RSL Sub-Branch RSL House on the corner of Main and Progress Streets at 5:30am. You can also attend a Sunrise Service at Jolly’s Lookout, Mount Nebo Road, commencing at 6am.
Everyone wishing to take part in the local Anzac Day Brisbane North March will be required to assemble at about 7:15am near the soccer ground carpark area along Samford’s Avenue of Honour to march-off at 7:45am to the War Memorial.
Please note: Parking will be available nearby the soccer grounds, attendees will also be able to park across the road at the tennis area.
Samford’s Avenue of Honour is lined with 20 hoop pines planted in tribute to the sacrifices made by 20 local servicemen who fought in WWI, WW2 and the Korean War. It stretches from Burton Lane to the soccer grounds.
At 7:40am & 8:05am restored military aircraft will roar past overhead in an impressive high flying tribute to the diggers.
When marchers have all arrived at the cenotaph site, the Main Anzac Day Service will begin at about 8:10am.
Please note: we strive to be as accurate as possible with the Anzac service information, however events are subject to change. If in doubt please contact the event organiser,
