Annual International Coffee Day may have passed on 1st October, but that’s no reason to stop celebrating java!

Moreton Bay’s coffee craze is here to stay. Whether you need a brewed awakening, an afternoon perk-me-up, or a late night latte, we’ve plenty of coffee shops and cafes North Brisbane way by the bayside and in the hinterland to help you beat the daily grind no matter the time.

To point you in the right direction we’ve brewed up a fresh batch of all the region’s top spots to grab a great cuppa…

Cafes North Brisbane in Redcliffe

#1 Neli Coffee

Neli Coffee is the peninsula’s caffeine mecca specialising in all things coffee from green bean to cup and everything in between.

Brewing their own signature blends, the newly revamped coffee roastery offers everything you could imagine – from simply delicious dine-in and takeaway cuppas, sweets and croissants to green & roasted beans, coffee machines, accessories, supplies and extras for sale, through to barista workshops. Everything you need to satisfy your coffee cravings can be sourced from Neli Coffee open 5 days from 8am (closed Mondays and Sundays).

#2 Beardy’s Bar & Kitchen

Beardy’s Bar & Kitchen are the fresh faced addition to the Redcliffe cafes North Brisbane crop. Beardy’s use a Sunshine Coast roaster Kings Grove blend of delicate medium/dark roast arabica & robusta beans originating from South America & South Asia.

Aside from whipping-up a perfect cup, this nifty joint also serves arguably the best hot chips on the peninsula, along with sweets and treats, delicious homemade burgers (do you have the stomach for the chili burger challenge?) and craft beers bottled and on tap (try the Bill Murray Malt Liquor!). 

Head over for regular live music Sunday sessions, or pop into the drive-thru for a coffee or brekkie burger on-the-go. Open for al fresco and indoor dining weekdays from 6am and weekends from 7am.

#3 Kee Bar and Café

Kee Bar and Cafe is a relaxed, licensed bar with water views situated along Hornibrook Esplanade. Of a morning the venue morphs into a coffee shop – Drowned Rat Espresso Bar – before transforming into Kee bar of an afternoon and evening.

Pop in Thursday to Sunday from noon until late for exceptional coffee made using Neli Coffee beans, amazing wine and craft beer catering to all tastes, and great food!

Cafes North Brisbane in Mango Hill & Narangba

#4 Stellarossa Espresso Bars

For high-grade Arabica coffee sourced from around the world pop-into Stellarossa Mango Hill or Stellarossa Narangba from 6:30am 7 days a week (Mango Hill franchise open Sunday from 7am).

Stellarossa serves its own blends – the 5-Star full-bodied blend harbouring notes of spice & chocolate, with a lingering, velvety berry-like finish, and the 6-Star blend characterised by deep and rich aromas alluding to its deep chocolate notes veiled by a hint of star anise.

Rothwell

#5 727 Coffee And Food

Hidden gem cafes North Brisbane don’t fly lower under the radar than 727 Coffee And Food. This unassuming, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it fresh and funky little café is simply a delight. Run by warm welcoming, and accommodating owners, you can jive over for java from 7am 6 days a week (closed Sunday).

Takeaway a delicious Big Dog blend cuppa from Wolff Coffee Roasters served in a lovely artistically-designed disposable cup, a front counter sweet, wrap  or sandwich, or pull up a chair instead to order breakfast, brunch or lunch off the Aussie menu. 

You’ll find the cafe tucked inside a small shopping arcade off Deception Bay Road, just past the Kia and Subaru car dealerships. More than enough off-street parking is available.

Lawnton

#6 Wheelhouse Coffee

Wheelhouse Coffee in Lawnton is a rustically decorated café which uses beans from Wolff Coffee Roasters. Come past for a cuppa exuding honey undertones from 6:30am 5 days a week (Saturday from 7:30am, Sunday from 8am). If you’re after more than just a fresh roast, take a seat inside at one of the wooden tables to dig into delicious home-style fare, or grab a treat to go instead.

#7 Art Shop Café

Enjoy a cup of Veneziano Coffee and some sweet treats, or a meal amidst artistic creations at Art Shop Café in Bellara. Run by a warm, welcoming and accommodating team, this colourful café, gallery and art supplies shop is decorated throughout with inspired artworks by talented local artists.

Take a seat and let your eyes wander around the space, vibrant artworks adorn almost every inch of the premises with many of the pieces available for purchase, along with an extensive array of art supplies.

If you’re lucky you may even get to enjoy a live piano recital of old favourites and requested songs on a Wednesday. Please call Art Shop Café for upcoming recital times on 3401 7509.

You’ll find this Bribie gem tucked away from view within a small shopping arcade at 25 Benabrow Avenue.

#8 Scoopy’s Family Café

For a freshly brewed cup of Grinders Coffee head to Scoopy’s Family Café by Brennan Park, back from Bongaree Beach. Grab a takeaway coffee from 6:30am to take along on a Bongaree walkabout by Pumicestone Passage, or pull up a table instead. This unassuming open-air indoor dining and al fresco café serves up beautiful gourmet meals, from all day breakfasts to delicious lunch dishes, you will be pleasantly surprised by the fantastic foodie fare on offer.

Finish your visit off with a frozen or frosty sweet treat – over 25 Peter’s Ice Cream flavours are available including sorbets!

#9 Evolve Espresso Bar

Looking for dog friendly cafés North Brisbane? Evolve Espresso Bar is well-worth a drive over to Bribie Island. The establishment is making its mark on the island's café scene and is quickly becoming a favourite hangout amongst locals. Whether hankering for a Cleanskin Coffee fix, a sumptuous breakfast or scrumptious lunch, Evolve has something sure to please your palate. Pop in from 6am weekdays, from 6:30am Saturday and from 7am Sunday.

Head to the Goodwin Drive shopping precinct in Bongaree to find this quirky, retro-decorated al fresco and indoor dining venue.

#10 Serenity Café on the Passage

Get your morning MIO Coffee fix from 7am at Serenity Café across from Pumicestone Passage along Welsby Parade. The small indoor and al fresco corner café menu features New American style-fare and hearty Australian staples with a twist. Dine-in for breakfast, lunch and desserts, or grab a takeaway option such as fish and chips.

You’ll find plenty of parking across the street in the waterside carpark.


#11 Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club

How about a round of golf followed by an exquisite coffee overlooking the course, lake and gardens? Cafes North Brisbane further afield from the city don’t get more picturesque than The Deck Bistro, a family-friendly, alfresco and indoor dining venue within Pacific Harbour Golf & Country Club.

This perfectly-positioned dining hotspot uses Primo Espresso beans sourced from The Coffee Place on the Sunshine Coast.

The bistro is a great spot for light snacks, hearty meals, drinks and coffee catch-ups. Head in for the weekly Sunday Session from 12:30pm to enjoy a cuppa and live music. A delicious tapas menu complements the entertainment for those after a bite to eat during the afternoon.

The Deck Bistro is open 7 days a week from 9am to 6pm, serving lunch 7 days from 11am to 3pm. Dinner is available only on Fridays from 6pm, while breakfast is only available on Sundays from 7am to 10:30am.

Cafes North Brisbane in Caboolture

#13 Café Duo

Café Duo is a fresh and vibrant family-friendly venue tucked within the modern-stylised Caboolture Super Clinic serving Merlo Coffee weekdays from 7am and weekends from 8am. Whether thirsting for cup of joe, or hungry for a hearty, high-quality brekkie or lunch, Café Duo will appease your hunger pangs and need for caffeine.

Takeaway a wrap, quiche, sandwich or sweet treat from the counter selection, or order off the menu and dine indoors, or al fresco under shade umbrellas instead. On weekends only, families with children aged 10 and under can take advantage of 1 free brunch meal from the kids brunch menu.

Samford

#14 The Flying Nun Cafe

You’ll come to worship the heavenly coffee available from Samford’s uniquely quirky, indoor and al fresco gourmet café – The Flying Nun. Tucked within a renovated old uniting church featuring stained glass windows and other tell-tale signs of its former life, the cafe swears by Zentveld Coffee from Byron Bay, using the global ‘barista blend’ which contains a mix of foreign and domestic beans.

Aside from serving impeccable coffee 7 days from 7am, the venue also dishes up high-quality foodie fare at affordable prices, and even Butter Beer in celebration of the new one-and-only Queensland Harry Potter store, right next-door!

Before you leave Samford consider taking home some of its boutique Byron Bay coffee. Zentveld is available to buy in 200g packs (whole bean, ground, plunger coffee) and 1kg packs (whole bean only).

#15 The Long Yard Larder

Beat the daily grind from 7:30am at The Long Yard Larder. Samford’s latest top-shelf foodie institution across from John Scott Park is without a doubt one of the best new cafes North Brisbane has to offer. The rustic establishment boasts a warm wood-lined interior and striking minimalist-style décor. It’s a great spot to watch the world go by while enjoying a freshly brewed coffee.

Grab pastries to go, or pull up a table for a lip-smacking gourmet breakfast or lunch, or specialty cheeses and charcuterie meats platter, topped off with a serve of Maleny Food Co Gelato.

You’ll find plenty of parking right outside for your convenience.

Mount Mee 

#16 Pitstop Cafe on Mount Mee 

For spectacular scenery with your liquid elixir, have a rest and re-energise at the Pitstop Café on Mt Mee. Located along the Mt Mee tourist drive and open Wednesday - Sunday, this location is a wonderful spot to enjoy freshly-made coffee. With traffic lights on the side of the café, car and motorcycle memorabilia covering the interior walls, and amazing views of Dayboro and other areas of the Moreton Bay Region, this quirky café is definitely worth visiting on your coffee crawl! You can also enjoy lunch at one of the outdoor tables whilst you drink your coffee and admire the view.
