Take the kids on a Park Crawl

North Lakes is known for its top parks and playgrounds for kids. You can find a whole variety of parks within very close proximity to one another. Follow this guide for a quick and easy route to the best parks in North Lakes.

Start early at Aurora Boulevard Park, situated on the street of the same name. This is a local’s favourite with extensive climbing equipment for the older kids and lots of fun smaller activities, including cubby house and toy truck, for the smaller adventurers. There is a reason this park is so popular weekday afternoons.

From Aurora Boulevard it’s a quick drive to Centrale Park on Chalk Circuit. This park sets itself apart with its edible herb garden featuring everything from rosemary, thyme, mint, mulberry, and even passionfruit during the right season. All these ingredients can be used if you choose to have a picnic or BBQ. The kids will also love the modern climbing dome, and DIY water feature.

A quick trip along Endeavour Boulevard and you can finish the park crawl at Lake Eden Town Park. This is perfect for a scenic walk around Lake Eden, where you can watch the local wildlife, including ducks and swans. Mum and Dad can also refuel with a coffee while the kids make use of any of the three playground situated around the lake. There are also plenty of large grassed areas to run around in.

Make and Take Workshop at Caboolture Regional Art Gallery

For the budding artist out there don’t miss the ‘Make and Take at the Gallery’ Workshop at the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery in Moreton Bay Region right near North Lakes. The workshop introduces new creative activities for kids to enjoy and explore at their own pace. Children can relish exploring traditional Chinese arts and crafts including Chinese Lanterns, Paper Cutting and Metaphysica collages.

This is a FREE event scheduled every Saturday from 9am – 3pm at Caboolture Regional Art Gallery at 4 Hasking Street, Caboolture.

For further information contact the Caboolture Regional Art Gallery on (07) 5433 3710.

Bushcare at North Lakes Reserve

Why not head to North Lakes Reserve and learn about native plants and help do something wonderful for the local wildlife and environment? Let the kids experience the great outdoors. It’s a perfect option if they’ve been spending too much time in front of the TV. And they’ll feel a huge sense of satisfaction knowing they’ve contributed to helping the environment. The group meets every second Saturday from 9am – 11am. The whole family can get involved in this activity. Just make sure to wear trousers, closed toe shoes, and maybe a pair of gloves, although some spare pairs are available on the day.
