The end of the year brings with it sunshine, longer days and much needed time off. Before you rush to book tickets to go away, explore your very own backyard and unearth these hidden treasures, right here in the Moreton Bay Region.

Mt Mee Country Inn

Amidst the D’Aguilar Ranges surrounded by luscious greenery, Mount Mee Country Inn is a quaint venue where time seems content to linger. Northbrook Gorge

Summer is the perfect time to swim, wade and through this little-known and well-hidden hiking track. A must for anyone who loves river bed walking, as well as ankle-deep and waist-high wading. There are several rock pools along the journey with the longest measuring about 15 to 20 metres. The large, almost crystal clear, rock swimming pool, complete with a short waterfall, found in the second gorge, is breathtaking! Off the beaten track behind Banksia Beach, Bribie Island Community Arts Centre is a quaint hub of creativity, nestled in gorgeous bushland. It’s one of Australia’s largest and busiest arts centres, boasting regular creative  workshops, studio exhibitions and a gift gallery filled to the brim with handcraft items and works of art. There is also a wonderful market on the last Sunday of every month, showcasing quirky wares and whimsical treasures.
