Seniors – Spend The Day In Deception Bay!

Natural Attractions On a Budget

Posted 23 October

Attention seniors – are you looking for a great place to relax, enjoy a coffee or just take in some scenery? Deception Bay may just be the place for you!

Deception Bay is an area that’s seen plenty of change over the years! Right now, it’s lovely spot for seniors to spend the day away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The area is home to a range of wildlife, including koalas, and stunning birdlife that makes for great bird watching. With a national park, the waterfront, and even a professional driving range located nearby, there’s something to suit every taste. Get out and about in Deception Bay this weekend – you’ll surprise yourself!

Deception Bay foreshore

In the past few years, the Deception Bay waterfront has received a major facelift and it’s totally changed the vibe of the area. As a result, it’s now a very pleasant place to wile away a few hours – whether by taking a long leisurely walk along the waterfront, or by pursuing the much-loved pastime of birdwatching. How you enjoy your day is up to you! The water is also a lovely place to take a dip or a paddle, or, if you’re so inclined, take out a kayak.

Once you’ve had your fill of fresh air and exercise, the Zesty Lemon Café is a delicious place to whet your whistle or even have lunch. Their pastries are divine and the coffee is great!

Deception Bay Driving Range tee to green

For the golf lovers out there, Deception Bay is home to a brilliant driving range and mini golf course. Owned and managed by professional golfers, the driving range is fully lit and has quality grass and fully waterproof hitting area. Free club hire is available if you need it, and the facilities are available for hire to functions or birthdays. What’s more, you can bring the grandkids and check out the 18 hole mini putt putt course. If that doesn’t equal a great day out, nothing will!

Freshwater National Park

If you’re more into wildlife or beautiful scenery, Deception Bay’s nearby Freshwater National Park offers that in spades. The beautiful coast and sub-coastal floodplain tree swamp is home to koalas, bandicoots, several breeds of kangaroo and wallaby, and dozens of bird species. Freshwater National Park is a fantastic place for birdwatching and bushwalking, so why not make a day of it?
