Redcliffe Museum

The Museum and its Collections offer an intriguing insight into a unique region; its European history since 1799; its heritage as Queensland’s first European Settlement in 1824-25; its much older indigenous culture; its rich maritime history; and the pleasures and surprises of bay side life.

Discover the history of the Peninsula

Located in the stunning parkland of Corscadden Park by Humbong Creek, Redcliffe Museum is in the old Sacred Heart Memorial Church site, offering a truly unique structure to learn about the past of Redcliffe and its surrounds.

Through triumph and tragedy, the peninsula has etched its story in the history books and evolved to become the vibrant province it is today.

The museum is a fabulous place to explore the rich history and culture through interaction, exhibition and exciting displays.

A letter from the Bee Gees

The Redcliffe Museum honours Redcliffe’s most famous residents with a permanent display with memorabilia from the world-renowned band, the Bee Gees. The highlight of this display is a moving letter penned by oldest brother Barry, reminiscing about his childhood in Redcliffe.

Temporary Exhibition Gallery

As well as many permanent displays celebrating Redcliffe’s past, there is a temporary exhibition gallery. A dedicated space for exhibitions set up with the help of local historical groups and touring exhibitions from state and national museums.

A place of wonder for the little explorer

Redcliffe Museum is an exciting place for the younger kids. An interactive initiative called G.A.M.E (Gallery and Museum Explorers) offers kids a world of adventure. There are workshops and events to get their hands dirty and unleash their creative ability.

There are creation stations & discovery docks including materials and activity sheets. There’s even a kids gallery, a dedicated space to showcase the works of the junior artists.

This is a fabulous day out for the whole family, giving everyone an opportunity to get involved in the fun.

Pick up a gift from the Museum Shop

The Museum Shop stocks a range of historical books, DVDs, souvenirs and giftware. A great way to continue the learning long after your visit. You could find a gift or a treat for yourself or your family and take home a piece of Redcliffe’s history.

Redcliffe Historical Society has a number of merchandising lines that are marketed through the Museum. All profits from these lines go the Redcliffe Historical Society, a hard working team dedicated to educating locals and visitors on the history of this wonderful part of the world.
