If you’re looking for things to do in Clontarf along the Redcliffe Peninsula then visit Clontarf Visitor Information Centre in front of Pelican Park home of the annual Redcliffe KiteFest, opposite
Shells Service Station.
The Centre was purpose built and designed in the shape of a pelican to enhance the visitor experience and opened to the public in 1997, today this picturesquely placed, tourist information hub receives just under 10,000 visitors annually, and is staffed by 40 local volunteers.
Visitors can take advantage of FREE Wi-Fi and bus groups can book free guided tours of the Redcliffe area through the Centre.
Each morning at 10am volunteers undertake a pelican checking program to ensure the health of the local pelican flock. If an injured pelican is detected the volunteers work with the Australian Seabird Rescue team to capture, treat and rehabilitate the bird.
Redcliffe Kitefest is held at Pelican Park in August each year.
