The Name…

‘Drowned Rat’ is not a usual name you’d associate with a coffee shop near Brisbane, so how did the name come about? Well, take one look at the chihuahua on the logo and you’ll understand! The Drowned Rat Espresso Bar was named after how the owner's dog looked after taking a swim at the local beach.

As you can imagine of a coffee shop named after how the owner’s dog looks from swimming, The Drowned Rat Espresso Bar is a pet-friendly café near Brisbane offering three different sized water bowls for their canine patrons! These spoilt pooches even get a fluffy mat in the shape of a paw to rest on.
