Kia ora! Welcome to the New Zealand Warriors' home away from home, Moreton Bay!

Just like the New Zealand Warriors, you too can be a champion explorer when you book an adventure to Moreton Bay.

After calling Moreton Bay home while they competed in the 2022 NRL season, we have welcomed the players with open arms and christened them as honorary residents of our stunning region.

When they’re not training on the field at Redcliffe’s Moreton Daily Stadium, the team scored a front-row seat to some of the best tourist attractions which Moreton Bay is renowned for.

A Little Bit About Moreton Bay

The region spans more than 2,045 square kilometres, between Brisbane City and the Sunshine Coast. Almost 15 years ago, three separate council areas amalgamated into what is known as the Moreton Bay Region and are now one of Australia's fastest-growing urban regions boasting everything from rural hinterland townships and bustling urban centres to cool coastal villages! It's really a one-stop-shop for all your bush-to-bay holiday needs!

Escape to Ocean View Estates Like a Warrior

Local produce paired with estate-made wines, is there anything more tantalising? Indulge in mouth-watering bites, award-winning wines and exceptional vistas over the vineyards Ocean View Estates is a premier venue in the Moreton Bay Region hinterland near Brisbane. Dine in the restaurant or alfresco areas overlooking the vineyards and lake or order your food packaged to enjoy as a picnic on their 100-acre property.

Escape to Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology like a Warrior

Turn back the hands of time and escape to another world at Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology, Caboolture. From the moment you walk in the doors spy the warriors of time gone by or perhaps you'd rather have a go at being one yourself? Here you can dress up in amour and mock a sword fight (don't worry the swords are heavy but, very blunt) or try your hand at archery!

Home to the largest, most authentic, annual medieval re-enactment in the southern hemisphere, Abbey Medieval Festival. A completely immersive medieval experience that transports you back to the days of kings, Vikings, fair maidens and peasants.

Escape to the Gantry like a Warrior

One of Moreton Bay's popular picnic spots, hidden in the D'Aguilar National Park, the Gantry Day use area. The Gantry is also home to two excellent walk trails, Somerset Trail and Piccabeen Walk. Somerset Trail is one for those after more of a challenge. This Class 4 Track by Australia Standards. Beginning opposite the Gantry, this track passes through scribbly gum forests, rainforests and dry open forests. About halfway along you can enjoy views overlooking Somerset Dam and Lake Wivenhoe to the west.

We took New Zealand Warrior's Bayley Sironen and Wayde Egan along to the Piccabeen Walk. Classified a Class 2 walk by Australian Standards and only a one kilometre loop, Piccabeen Walk is a delightful relaxing stroll. You will enjoy the rainforest setting and grove of piccabeen palms, whilst also learning more about Mount Mee from the information signs along the path. Escape Room Challenge

We decided that there isn't a better way for New Zealand Warriors, Euan Aitken, Bunty Afoa, and Aaron Pene could Escape to Moreton Bay Like a Warrior themselves than with a Moreton Bay-inspired room searching for the key to escape! They need to pass a series of challenges to find what they’re looking for. Find out if they do by playing the video!

Seeing as the players from the New Zealand Warriors have been living it up in Moreton Bay since November.
