Roving Wildlife: While wandering around the Sunshine Coast zoo say “hi” to the roaming animals you come across. You might make the acquaintance of a sweet-natured wombat, baby alligator, or even a chatty cockatoo.

Africa: The Australia Zoo savannah is home to African native wildlife. Head over to spot a zebra, giraffe and rhino. If you are lucky you may even see a cheetah stroll past.

Bindi's Island: Discover the tropical island escape home to Bindi’s 3-storey treehouse with views of the macaw, alligator snapping turtle, and ring-tailed lemur enclosures.

Australia Zoo’s Animal Conservation Initiatives

The Sunshine Coast zoo is also home to one of the world’s busiest and biggest wildlife hospitals, out of which operates the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit. The unit takes in injured, sick and orphaned native animals within SE QLD. If you’ve spotted (or rescued) wildlife in need of veterinary attention you can contact the rescue unit via the 24-hour Wildlife Emergency Hotline on +1300 369 652.

Other conservation and protection initiatives include the koala research program, Adopt An Animal program, the Crocodile Research division runin partnership with the University of Queensland (UQ) and Wildlife Warriors. A myriad of other conservation endeavours and programs are also run across the globe such as the Cambodian elephant habitat protection program.

Australia Zoo from Moreton Bay Region and Brisbane

The zoo can be found approximately 25 minutes north of Caboolture, 45 minutes north-west of Redcliffe, 1 hour north of Samford, and 1 hour 20 minutes north of Brisbane CBD.

Australia Zoo from the Sunshine Coast

Australia Zoo is about 25 minutes south-west of Caloundra, 45 minutes south-west of Mooloolaba, and 55 minutes from Noosa.

Courtesy bus transfers to local train stations are available daily.

Monday to Friday Timetable

1:18pm: Connection with Caboolture Station 2:05pm train. You’ll be picked up by the Queensland Rail Bus from the bus stop located in the first car park.

2:40pm: Connection with Beerwah Station 3:07pm train. You’ll be picked up by the Australia Zoo Courtesy Bus from in front of Admissions.

3:20pm: Connection with Beerwah Station 3:41pm train. You’ll be picked up by the Australia Zoo Courtesy Bus from in front of Admissions.

4:33pm: Connection with Caboolture Station 5:05pm train. You’ll be picked up by the Queensland Rail Bus from the bus stop located in the first car park.

5:33pm: Bus transfer to all stations from Beerwah to Caboolture. Please ask Admissions staff where the pick-up location is located.

12:20pm: Connection with Beerwah Station 12:41pm train. You’ll be picked up by the Australia Zoo Courtesy Bus from in front of Admissions. This particular transfer must be pre-arranged with the Admissions staff.

1:50pm: Connection with Beerwah Station 2:11pm train. You’ll be picked up by the Australia Zoo Courtesy Bus from in front of Admissions.

3:20pm: Connection with Beerwah Station 3:41pm train. You’ll be picked up by the Australia Zoo Courtesy Bus from in front of Admissions.

4:30pm: Connection with Beerwah Station 5:11pm train. You’ll be picked up by the Australia Zoo Courtesy Bus from in front of Admissions.
