Meet the Farmers: Samford Valley eBike Tour
The picturesque Samford Valley holds much to explore, and is emerging as a foodie destination, celebrating clean fresh local produce. Just 30 mins from Brisbane's CBD, it's far enough away to hold many beautiful secrets and special places, including a recently constructed bike path that follows the historic railway line through the state forest and picturesque pastures.
Join us at Pause as we spend a fun-filled foodie day exploring our region and our local farms on modern electric e-bikes. We will set out from Samford Village and ride down to "Lot 81 Microfarm" to meet Farmer Liam. After we meet his chooks, have an espresso coffee, tour his plots and harvest some produce, we will set out for Millen Farm on the other side of the range. We will ride along the Samford Rail Trail through the forest, and head towards the South Pine River to meet Farmer Arun at Millen Farm. Arun will lead us on a tour of this amazing Urban Farm facility, and explain the Permaculture concepts that have given rise to such a productive lot. After harvesting some of his produce, we will ride back to Pause in the heart of Samford Village and head to the Academy Kitchen.
Chef Rino will use the ingredients you have harvested as we gather together to make a delicious menu of authentic Italian pastas, gnocchi and spaghetti, with delicious local seafood. We then move to the Pause tables to feast on the dishes we have prepared, and enjoy matched premium Italian wines served by our Sommelier Luca.
Join us for a full day of Foodie Fun and exploration from 9am to 3pm, and come and soak up the best of what Samford Valley has to offer!
