Meet artist Nicola Hooper whose works feature in the exhibition Zoonoses. Hooper is a Brisbane based artist, whose practice explores zoonoses and the resulting relationships between humans and animals, particularly focusing on contradictory perceptions of animals in the context of fear of disease.
Her studio practice explores concepts surrounding zoonoses particularly in the narration of anecdotal news stories both visually and verbally through a fairy tale and historical rhyme context.
With a background in design and illustration, lithography and drawing became integral to Hooper’s studio practice whilst completing her Masters of Arts in Visual Arts (MAVA) and MAVA honors (1st class) at Queensland College of Art, Brisbane.
Take a personal tour with Nicola and delve deeper into the inspiration behind these fascinating works.
Event is also on Saturday, 24 August 2019 | 12:30 PM- 01:00 PM
