Redcliffe Festival of Sails

COVID Safe

Event organisers are working closely with Queensland Health to deliver the event with patron safety as our top priority. Delivered under a COVID-Safe Event Plan, patrons can expect a few changes in the spirit of safety and all event attendees will be required to scan in using a QR code for contact-tracing purposes.

This Good Friday, point the steering wheel towards Redcliffe and spend the day by the seaside at the COVID-Safe Redcliffe Festival of Sails! Packed with fun the whole family will love this Easter and the best vantage point to catch the historic Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race, there’s no better place to kick off the long-weekend.

Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race

Considered one of the biggest yacht races in Australia, the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race sets the scene for this Festival. Usually occurring in the morning, the competing yachts will pass across Moreton Bay en route for Gladstone in the hopes of winning the prestigious Cup.

To get a good view of the event unfolding, bring your chairs or picnic blanket and binoculars and find a place on the beach early. Good spots tend to go fast!

Festival markets

Another enjoyable aspect of the Redcliffe Sails Festival is the hundreds of markets that set up every year. From arts and crafts to delicious food stalls, there is something for everyone at the market place.

Enjoy the beach

Suttons Beach will come alive during Redcliffe Festival of Sails. Be sure to go and visit the Beach Zone once you get there. The first thing that will meet your eyes will be the incredible hand crafted sand sculptures. The kids will love getting their hands messy making their own sand sculptures, too, on this accessible shoreline. There really is something for everyone.

Easter Bunny

It wouldn’t be Good Friday or Festival of Sails without the Easter Bunny, making the infamous festival appearance via water this year.

Easter Egg Hunt

The kids will love exploring the event site via the FREE Easter Bunny’s Easter Egg Hunt. Collect your treasure map and follow the clues to collect your eggs!

Live Stage Entertainment

Every year at the Redcliffe Festival of Sails, live stage entertainment is provided all day on the Main Stage. Be sure to check it out and get your groove on! Music and entertainment make it a great day out for kids and parents alike. The full program of live music and entertainment will be confirmed closer to the event.

Pop-up Ice Cream Fair

Journey through the Pop-up Ice-cream Fair, dedicated to everything sweet, creamy, and frozen, and set your tastebuds dancing with a selection of gourmet desserts. This dedicated zone is a dream for sweet tooths.

Amenities

The Redcliffe Festival of Sails organisers put a lot of time into planning the 'little things'. Additional public toilets are available along with first aid attendants. Need cash for that bargain you've spotted at the markets? Use one of the portable ATMs to get money out on the go.

Getting to the Festival

Be advised there is very limited parking at the Festival. There are alternatives to parking near the festival. Catch the ‘Park ‘n' Ride’ shuttle bus service from the Redcliffe Showgrounds, which runs frequently from 8am - 5pm. Simply park at the Redcliffe Showgrounds and take the FREE shuttle bus provided to the event.

To get to the Redcliffe Showgrounds from Brisbane, check out our guide to Redcliffe here. Once you get onto Victoria Avenue, continue up past the Redcliffe Hospital. Just after it you will find the Redcliffe Showgrounds.

Alternatively, you can catch the shuttle bus from Kippa-Ring Train Station, running frequently from 8am - 5pm.

The best part of that this entire service, from parking to taking the bus, is completely free! All shuttle buses are wheelchair and pram friendly.
