It is with deep regret and much sadness that today, Woodfordia has cancelled The Planting Festival 2020.
For those who have purchased Planting tickets already, we will be organising the refunding of your ticket purchases into your account in the next couple of days.
Get back in touch with your roots toiling the soil from Friday, 1st to Sunday, 3rd May 2020 at The Planting Festival Woodford, an environmental conservation tradition which has been bringing the local community and likeminded visitors together, annually for the last 24 years.
The Planting is a spirited, family-friendly Woodford Folk Federation (QFF) event dedicated to sustainable initiatives and environmental nurturing of the Woodfordia site for the enjoyment of future generations.
The Planting is much more than a working bee event. Aside from exercising your green thumb, this wonderful, eclectic celebration of Mother Nature offers attendees the opportunity to relax and sit-in on educational discussions and activities, presentations, and demonstrations, as well as enjoy performances and cultural events towards the end of each day.
Topics such as raw foods, climate change, invertebrates and other environmentally themed issues will be explored through the presentations, performances, talks and events.
Numerous talented musicians and food outlets will also be onsite.
You will be able to partake in over 80 diverse workshops over the duration of this Woodfordia festival, some of which are free and others paid. Workshops on offer include: bird species walks, textiles, scientific drawings, DIY solar, bee-hive construction, craft beer appreciation, Pilates and many others. These will be available to book closer to the date.
The Planting’s Masterclass Workshops span across several days to a fortnight prior to the festival’s commencement. These Masterclasses require additional payment on-top of the admission ticket price. Masterclass options will also be revealed closer to the event date.
Children are encouraged to participate in this family-friendly festival fun. There will be a plethora of exciting, educational activities and events for the kids to enjoy over the weekend.
This event is held in April so don’t forget to bring warmer clothes for later in the day, plus the essentials: a hat, sunnies, comfy shoes and sunscreen. An umbrella, or raincoat wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
