Australian composer, lyricist, author and producer Jye Bryant will be making a visit to local theatre company, Moreton Bay Theatre, for the Queensland premiere of his acclaimed production The Things I Could Never Tell Steven.
The Penrith based creative has recently returned from overseas where his work has been performed on London’s West End in a new musical showcase and also in New York in Broad Views On Broadway.
The one-act musical is also being performed centre stage as part of the 2019 Mardi Gras Festival.
The Things I Could Never Tell Steven is a 70-minute one-act revue-style musical centred around four characters: Stevens wife, mother, father and ex-boyfriend.
Although the audience never gets to physically meet Steven, the characters share intimate details about their life with him and the things they struggle to tell him.
In turn they learn secrets hidden by Steven, secrets that could tear the family apart.
It has been branded a “touching emotional rollercoaster” – “ you will laugh hysterically, you will be brought to tears, you will get angry!”
Directed by Matthew Bapty, with musical direction from Lily Colmer, the young, emerging production team along with a talented cast of local performers will be premiering the show from February 22nd to March 3rd at NeverLand Theatre, 5A 4-6 Burke Crescent, North Lakes.
Tickets are available from the Moreton Bay Theatre website mbtc.com.au
