The Frilled Neck Lizard is often confused with the bearded dragon. This is unfortunate as this Australian animal is struggling for suitable habitat in which to live. At one time these animals were found in many suburbs around Brisbane. Urban development, loss of trees, pesticides, and domestic animals have confined these lizards to living within small pockets of suitable habitat.
The Frilled neck lizard can be found in dry sclerophyll forest throughout Queensland.
Join us to learn and get involved on a local level to protect and restore habitat and reduce predation of this priority species.
After the talk, take a guided walk through the type of habitat these lizards love and connect with a local community group involved in protecting local habitat.
