Forget XXXX, VB, Tooheys, Carlton, Hahn, Pure Blonde and all the other usual suspects, boutique brews are now all the rage.

Over the last couple of years Moreton Bay Region has seized onto the brew fever and steeped up its game when it comes to brewing and serving new age craft beer. The divergence of flavours and styles of craft and new age beers holds great appeal to the discerning drinker and the beer curioso, with local brewers popping up across the region.

Crack open another cold one at Thirsty Chiefs Brewing Company

For primo craft beer Brisbane North you can’t go past family-friendly Thirsty Chiefs. This microbrewery is brewing up a storm in North Lakes, offering beer enthusiasts over 195 local and imported beers, ciders and unique range beers including preservative-free, gluten-free, alcoholic ginger beer and even chilli-infused brews. The microbrewery also hosts family-friendly Friday Knock Off Drinks, as well as monthly Karaoke Nights and other special events throughout the year.

Enjoy an un-beer-lievable sip at Brendale Brewing Co

For an intimate space to catch up with your closest mates or a place to party with your favorite people, Brendale Brewing has the goods to cater to everyone. With no tv's to watch the sports channel, Brendale Brewing wants you to get back to basics and socialise with your friends, family and maybe even meet someone new while throwing back a fresh, local craft beer. Bring your furry, four-legged friends along, play some pool or foosball, try out the Super Nintendo, and don't forget about the missus and the bub - with baby change tables in the bathroom and plenty of board games to keep the kids entertained, Brendale Brewing truly understands the need for a local hangout.

Have a beer-tastic time at these venues

Jumping Goats Bar

Owned and run by a father-daughter team, Jumping Goats Bar is one of the newest bars on the Redcliffe Peninsula. For relaxed seaside vibes in a rustic setting, Jumping Goats Bar is the place to be. Each Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evening, you can enjoy live music and board games while you throw back a few cold ones from local suppliers such as White Brick Brewing and Brendale Brewing.

While the bar is stocked with a wide range of snacks including locally made jerky and peanuts plus cheese and crackers, guests are welcome to bring their own food. Right next door is a delicious takeaway Thai shop, Kob’s Thai Kitchen, as well as Bella Sicilia Pizza and Pasta. There’s nothing better than some pizza or pasta to wash down a beer or two.

Beardy's Bar & Kitchen

The bearded boys are well known on the peninsula to have the best homemade burgers, even better hot chips and sensational boutique coffee. They also shine in the beer department. The bar and café serves a great range of craft and new age beers sourced straight from suppliers, many of which you won’t find in any bottle shop.

The on-tap offerings feature exclusive craft beer brewery selections, while the bottled delights contain a mix of Australian and overseas beers.
