Dayboro Art Gallery

Dayboro Art Gallery

Mount Mee Road, Dayboro, 4521, Queensland, Queensland

The Dayboro Art Gallery near Brisbane is home to over thirty local artists with an extensive cross-section of artworks. Covering all styles and genres, your personal tastes will be challenged, it not expanded by the gallery collection.

Art Gallery History

When the Dayboro Art Gallery first opened in 1994, only ten members worked 3 days a week voluntarily, displaying various art styles. As the gallery grew in popularity thanks to the efforts of these members, more artists showed interest in joining and council supported expansion. In July 2017, a new state-of-the-art, purpose-built gallery was opened on the main street of Dayboro and today there are over 35 members to ensure the gallery can be open seven days a week, displaying all artwork genres.

Supporting Local Artists

As a not-for-profit gallery ran by the artists themselves and a commitment to supporting the local community, the artwork is priced so that there is something for everyone to take home, big or small. An impressive display of high quality, handcrafted wares are available to buy, and commissions are welcome. Affordable for everyone, the gallery shop is an ideal place to find that special gift. As the north Brisbane art gallery is operated by the artists themselves, there is always an opportunity to meet and greet, be inspired and learn a new artistic technique.

More Than Art

While there are many award-winning artistic works displayed on the walls of the Dayboro Art Gallery, it’s the experience of a ‘rural’ town so close to the city that will have you feeling refreshed and relaxed. With all the charm of yesteryear but a present-day vibe, you can take a stroll of the entire town in a short time.

Massive figs will cushion your view as you walk toward the Crown Hotel, passing numerous boutique cafes, also owned by locals of the Moreton Bay Region, if not Dayboro residents themselves. Find a cute little book nook or find some beautiful antiques or take the historical building trail before hitting the craft and gift shops.

If you’re looking to turn your day trip from Brisbane into a weekend stay, Dayboro Cottages is just down the way, offering a unique hinterland bushwalking experience with friendly llamas and alpacas. Alternatively, you can wine and dine at the award-winning Ocean View Estates for a breath-taking view of green vineyards, even in the winter months!
