Gaby's Hacienda & Doña Terecua's Recipes

9 Baldwin Street, Redcliffe QLD 4020

Located one block away from Queens Beach, Gaby’s Hacienda in Redcliffe is the perfect place to add a little extra spice to your next getaway.

This charming bed and breakfast has two rooms available, which provide a cosy and comfortable home-away-from-home vibe that is perfect for single travellers, couples and families.

In addition to resting your head, host Gabriela Morale also shares her culture and passion for food by hosting Mexican Cooking Classes through her business Doña Terecua's Recipes, which guests and members of the public are welcome to join.

A peaceful and relaxing stay

Gabriela’s beautiful Queenslander-style home can accommodate four people who are looking for a seaside getaway close to Brisbane City.

The first room has one Queen bed and is perfect for a couple, parents, or an individual looking to stretch out.

If you’re travelling with little ones, the second bedroom features one single bed and an additional sofa bed.

Both rooms have access to a shared bathroom on the bedroom level of the residence.

Additional amenities include a hair dryer, towels, bed sheets, soap, toilet paper, clothes hangers, an iron, Wi-Fi, a television with standard cables, and a kitchen space where guests can prepare and cook their own meals.

Being within close proximity to the water, the house catches those lovely afternoon summer breezes, which can be best enjoyed while sitting out on the wrap-around verandah with a glass of wine and enjoying a meal.

All guests are offered a continental breakfast in the morning consisting of cereals, toast, yogurt, orange juice, some fruit, as well as cups of tea and coffee.

Gabriela and her husband Steve welcome all local, national and international travellers, and can happily communicate in both English and Español.

Sharpen your cooking skills

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced cook, everyone will learn something new and get to taste some truly authentic Mexican dishes with Gabriela, who teaches others how to cook her own family recipes.

If it is your first time, there is a standard beginner’s menu, where Gabriela will demonstrate how to make classic tacos.

All the food is prepared by the guests, and all ingredients, equipment and aprons are provided on the day.

Afterwards, the class will sit and enjoy the meal family-style on the wide verandah of Gaby’s Hacienda.

Gabriela also teaches budding chefs how to also cook enchiladas, avocado soup and ceviche, Aztec cake and more, should you wish to book another cooking class.
