Ask any local or recent visitor and they will agree that a highlight of North Lakes is the pristine Lake Eden. A stunning body of water in the town centre surrounded by parks, playgrounds, boardwalks, and cafes, Lake Eden is also home to large volume of wildlife and a thriving ecosystem.

Lake Eden is used for an eclectic range of activities and the home to a large amount of community events and festivals. These are just a few of the things to do at Lake Eden in North Lakes.

The Lake Eden Trail

The Lake Eden Trail is a walkway that weaves its way around the whole of Lake Eden. Part of the 10,000 Steps initiative by the Moreton Bay Regional Council, the Lake Eden Trail is a popular track for walkers, runners, and cyclists alike. At 1,676m from start to finish the Lake Eden Trail take about 20 minutes to walk, and those who make the time will not be disappointed. Whether morning or afternoon, the walk features stunning views of the lake and a water’s edge teeming with wildlife.

Weddings and Functions

Town Park Lake Eden features a timber viewing platform and rock terrace grassed area with beautiful lake views. This space has become very popular for wedding ceremonies and other functions. Patrons are able to contact the Moreton Bay Regional Council for bookings.

Parks and Playgrounds

Lake Eden has no fewer than three parks and playgrounds situated around it. Children will not be left wanting with the numerous play equipment and large grassed areas in which they can play. Many areas also feature soft bark flooring to that added element of comfort.

Visitors will often see boot camps and fitness groups making use of the large grassed areas and multi-level surfaces to punch out the ultimate workout.

Nature Watch

The banks of Lake Eden are home to countless water birds and other wildlife. The kids will love nature watching as they make their way around the walkway. Keep a special eye out for the swans and ducks that are often seen playing in the water.

BBQ, Picnic, or Cafe

Each park at Lake Eden has a well-maintained, clean BBQ area – perfect for that hot feast. Or spread a blanket on the grass, lay outthat baguette, cured ham, and selection of cheeses, and entertain with a classic Aussie picnic. If DIY is not your thing there are cafes in the area to satisfy any caffeine or hunger cravings.

For bikeways and playgrounds for all ages, put Lake Eden on your activity list this weekend. Share your adventure #visitmoretonbayregion
