What's On - Boxing Day to New Year's Day

It's often referred to as the weird and lazy week where nothing counts. We have very different ideas on how to spend the week between Christmas and New Year's in Moreton Bay. Let's finish the year with an absolute bang, and with so much on offer it won't be difficult to make this a memorable end to 2021.

Use this week to take a digital detox and explore hinterland and coastal gems in Moreton Bay. Our friends at Our Open Passport showcased their favourite digital detox locations from all over the region. This is a must activity before we launch into 2022. The 80s

The 80s were filled with bright fashion, major events and stunning growth for the Sunshine State. The Commonwealth Games and Expo 88 were on a scale never seen before and captured the atmosphere of Brisbane, a city on the rise. Saturday 27 November - Monday 7 March at Redcliffe Museum. Green Screen

What matters to you? Is it koala habitats, swimming in clean waterways or saving the bees? Moreton Bay’s young people are speaking out and sharing their thoughts about the local environment. Using stop-motion animation, assembled sculpture and poster making, Green screen will present their concerns and ideas about human impact on the environment. JamFactory Icon Tom Moore: Abundant Wonder

Immerse yourself in the fantastical world of Tom Moore. One of Australia's leading glass artists, Moore’s masterful handling of the medium results in imaginative and playful sculptures and environments. Exhibiting at Caboolture Regional Art Gallery from December 5 to January 30. Discover here.

John A. Robinson: Being

Through this exhibition, Redcliffe-based artist John A. Robinson, uses the mathematical concept of fractals to decipher and depict the landscapes around him. This body of new works were created after observing the fractal nature of mangrove roots and tidal detritus washed up on the mud flats in Deception Bay. Bushtime at Woodfordia

Bushtime is an inspired camping holiday held on a 500-acre parkland located in the Moreton Bay Region Hinterland, on Jinibara Country, just over one hour north of Brisbane. Think sunset concerts, single or intensive multi-day workshops, science talks and demonstrations, or self-led activities exploring a site brimming with abundant flora and fauna.

Redcliffe Markets New Year's Eve Party

End 2021 with a double BANG at the Redcliffe Markets New Years Eve Party! With TWO spectacular Moreton Daily Fireworks Displays. The esplanade at Redcliffe is preparing to light up on Friday December 31st with a FREE, outdoor, family friendly event by the sea.
