Six ‘pawfect’ pet-friendly holiday spots to visit in Moreton Bay

One of the best things about being on holidays is spending time with the ones you love, including your fluffy four-legged friend.

When the time comes for you head away, forget finding a pet sitter or a kennel, because here in Moreton Bay there are plenty of pet-friendly accommodation options to keep you out of the doghouse!

Here are six ‘pawfect’ places where you and your pet will have a ball together.

#1

Bellthorpe Stays

Give your dog a well-deserved break from all the city noises by booking a few peaceful nights away at Bellthorpe Stays – a 400-acre property in the hinterland near the Glasshouse Mountains.

Owners David and Wendy are happy for families to bring one well behaved dog with them (or two in special circumstances) but ask that owners take responsibility for their dog by always keeping them on a lead and cleaning up after them.

There are four self-contained cabins to choose from, with each cabin having all the basic items you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

There are also plenty of walking tracks and waterfalls for you and your pup to explore.

David and Wendy’s beloved pooch Dodge might also drop by to say hello and have a play.

#2

Ocean View Estates

Whether you’re travelling as a couple, with your kids, or are part of a larger group of people, there are numerous beds waiting for you at Ocean View Estates.

Your group, as well as your furry family members, can enjoy the five-bedroom winemakers house, featuring full kitchen facilities, entertaining areas, an outdoor fire pit and a dog proof fence.

With 150 acres of land for you to explore, this is a fantastic location to get back to nature soak up the fresh country air.

Plus, there is the added bonus of wine for the humans to sip and enjoy.

#3

Brockhurst Farm

Life can sometimes become very hectic and ‘ruff’ so that’s why it’s important to take time to ‘paws’ and relax every now and again.

There are three pet-friendly cabins located at Brockhurst Farm in Ocean View – all of which are designed to be your home away from home for a few days.

The cabins are also fully fenced to ensure the hound is always close by, and when it’s time to head to bed, they can sleep either on the verandah or on the bed with you. Dogs are not permitted to sleep on the carpet or the furniture.

With the farm being surrounded by rolling green hillside, your dog will have a field day with all the new smells to sniff out. There’s even a dam where they can take a dip to cool off after all that running around (while on a leash of course!)

#4

Dayboro Showgrounds

If you enjoy sleeping under the stars with your doggo, pets are welcome to camp with you when you pitch your tent at the Dayboro Showgrounds.

Facilities at the showgrounds include hot showers, bathrooms, a camp kitchen and laundry.

With travellers coming and going, your pupper will love meeting lots of new people, and working those magic puppy dog eyes for extra pats!

This site is also just a short stroll into the town centre of Dayboro, meaning you can clip on the lead and go and say hello to the locals and get that all important cup of coffee.

#5

Running Creek Parklands

It’s always nice when you can just sit and cuddle with your best mate, so there will be plenty of time to do that when you book a camping spot at Running Creek Parklands.

Be sure to bring a comfy chair for yourself (and a comfy bed for the dog) and simply enjoy each other’s company and the serenity with plenty of pats and snuggles.

Like most camping sites, your dog must be kept on a lead.

#6

Samford Lakes Accommodation

With lush greenery and water views, you and your puppy can enjoy the great outdoors in style at your own little slice of paradise at Samford Lakes Accommodation.

There are a number of cottages onsite to choose from, all decorated with country style and flare.

With plenty of room to run around, you can enjoy a game of fetch or two, or discover the secrets of this 35-acre property on a nature walk.
