With the four-day weekend now only days away it is time to lock in your Easter escapades. Autumn’s cooler temps allow for action-packed escapes and exciting road trips. In honour of every chocoholic’s favourite public holiday, we have developed a four-day itinerary filled with Easter themed fun!

#1

Good Friday

Day 1

A Foreshore Breaky

High tail it to Redcliffe first thing on Friday morning and make the most of Redcliffe Markets Good Friday Pop-up event. The foreshore market will offer the freshest artisan produce, fashion, home wares, Easter-themed decorations, and chocolate…lots of chocolate.

Grab some beaky and stroll down Redcliffe Parade taking in the views across Moreton Bay before hopping back in your car and making your way round the corner to Suttons Beach where Redcliffe Festival of Sails will fill the waterfront park with colour and excitement.

#2

Day 1

Festival Fun

Please note this festival has been cancelled due to the Greater Brisbane three-day lockdown announcement and the evolving COVID-19 cluster situation.

Redcliffe Festival of Sails offers entertainment for all ages. Enjoy free entertainment across three stages, hundreds of market stalls, food trucks, the always popular Pop-up Ice Cream Fair, sand sculptures, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. While you are here be sure to look to the horizon and watch the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race pass by.

#3

Sleep Steps from the Sand

Tonight, you’ll be relaxing on one of Redcliffe’s beachside balconies. Rest your head at La Vida on Anzac, The Sebel Margate Beach, Oaks Mon Komo Hotel or Scarborough Beach Resort. If you are still hungry after a day feasting on all the goodness at #RedcliffeFestivalofSails (let’s be honest – we would be too!) wander down to Redcliffe Parade where you can dine in one of the many much loved cafes.

Note: Give your accommodation provider a call to confirm check in times so you can arrange best time to drop your belongings off.

#4

Easter Saturday

Day 2

Devour Smashed Avo or Eggs Benny

After a long day out and about on Friday, take Easter Saturday a little bit slower. Wake up refreshed after a sleep in and head to one of Redcliffe’s noteworthy cafes for breakfast. Here are some of our faves:

Once your tummy is full and you are ready to rumble jump in the car and pop Clear Mountain into your GPS.

#5

Get Crafty

Enjoy a 45 minute scenic drive through the country before igniting your creativity with an Easter art and craft workshop at Christa's Art & Gilding.

Learn how to use silver and gold foil while making your very own Easter gifts.

#6

Day 2

Explore Samford and Surrounds

Next up is a visit to a popular artisanal bakery Little Tree Bake & Brew House who are passionate about delivering a world-class café and dining experience for all. Indulge on sweet treats and a nice warm cuppa as you relax in the Moreton Bay Region hinterland. We suggest ordering one of their hot-cross buns - they are something else!

Spend the afternoon exploring Samford and it’s rustic country charm before heading back to your accommodation for a good night’s rest.

#7

Easter Sunday

Day 3

Chocolate for Breakfast?

If there was one day of the year you could treat yourself to chocolate for breakfast, Easter Sunday is it! Wake early to find treats the Easter Bunny might have delivered and allow time for a waterfront walk along the Moreton Bay Cycleway - despite its name, it’s perfect for a morning stroll.

#8

Day 3

Things to do this Easter - Meet the Easter Bunny!

Then it is time to hit the road. Head north for a day by the bay at Sandstone Point Hotel’s Easter Sunday Eggstravaganza event. Join the massive Easter egg hunt (over 6,000 eggs to find), listen to live music on the grass and experience the fun on Australia’s largest inflatable theme park, the Inflatable Factory! Enjoy all of this with a stunning backdrop of Pumicestone Passage – how good?!

#9

Easter Monday

Day 4

Get those arms swinging at Undersea Putt & Play

First things first - food! Fuel up at a local cafe before hitting the green at Undersea Putt & Play. Challenge your family and friends to a game of mini golf at this underwater-themed mini golf course and a games arcade. As you putt over the ocean floor, you will discover ancient fossilised prehistoric fish, great white sharks, crocodiles and even whirlpools.

For an extra challenge, find hidden Easter eggs across the putting greens. Look high and low for chocolate-y goodness.

#10

Day 4

Make New Furry and Feathered Friends at White Ridge Farm

Still craving more of Moreton Bay Region? Time to head to the last stop of this Four Day Easter Itinerary - White Ridge Farm. Wander around the farm grounds and get up close and personal with Gypsy the camel and all his friends - goats, cows, alpacas, piglets and more.
