Get your romance on with time away for you and your beloved. Our beautiful Moreton Bay Region has loads of gems to explore together. We’ve created a two night romantic holiday for two to give you some inspiration.
DAY 1
Start your adventure in spectacular Redcliffe with a morning by the seaside.
Take a stroll along the Redcliffe Jetty – the third to grace the waterfront since the first was built in 1885.
With panels along the jetty covering its history – including the Penny Arcade on the second jetty, where the Bee Gees used to play, and stunning views across the water, it’s lovely way to while away the time.
From there, it’s a short walk to Bee Gees Way, where you can discover more about where the famous brothers Gibb got their start, and pose for photos with statues of the trio.
Redcliffe is known for its quaint arcades – if you’ve got time, it’s well worth having a fossick to see what you can find.
You’re spoilt for choice with food options along the waterfront at Redcliffe.
We love Café Diversity for its modern fit out and incredible views.
There are Gluten Free, Nut Free, Paleo, Vegetarian and Vegan options, so you’re sure to find something to tempt.
If you’ve worked up an appetite, try The Big Breakfast of house made baked beans, fried haloumi, poached eggs, mushrooms, thick cut bacon, pork sausage, organic sourdough, slow roasted tomato, hash and beetroot pesto.
After something lighter? A Brazilian acai bowl should hit the spot.
It’s time to head to Dayboro, the next stop for the loved-up day.
No visit to this picturesque country town is complete without spending time in the charming antique stores and the Dayboro Art Gallery.
The gallery is not-for-profit and is home to more than 30 artists from across the Moreton Bay Region, showcasing a variety of styles from award-winning contributors.
From Dayboro Shed Antiques, to Bohemian De’cor and Murphy’s Antiques and Restorations, you’re sure to pick up a treasure or two as you take a trip down memory lane.
There’s a huge range including retro, art deco, larger furniture, vintage glassware, cute teacups and saucers and more to explore.
Dayboro is famous for it’s tempting cafes and brilliant bakery. A romantic holiday for two just isn't the same without treating yourself to something you normally wouldn't **cough** almond croissant - now would it?
At the Dayboro Bakery you’ll find a huge selection of handmade pies, a plethora of sweet treats and burgers – including a vegetarian option with lentils, carrot, onion and spices.
Before you head to your next destination, pick up some supplies for dinner at the local IGA, before you pop in at Dayboro Village Meats to, home to famous, award-winning sausages. The butchery also stocks a range of other taste-tempters.
Worn out after all the feasting and sight-seeing? Head to your digs for an afternoon nap.
